400 left-wing Israeli activists turn up to assist Palestinian farmers to plant olive trees

Nearly 400 left-wing Israeli activists turned up on February 4, Friday morning, in order to help the Palestinian farmers plant olive trees near the West Bank village of Burin; two weeks after an attack by extremist settlers, there left numerous people injured.

According to the “Avi Dabush”, the hundreds of Israelis, including those injured by Jewish terrorists, returning to the scene where the attack occurred represents a significant victory.

“We announced that we will not give in to brutality and that we would return to the field to stand in solidarity with Palestinian olive farmers, especially on those who regularly attack them. And that is what he did,” he said.

As per the organization, numerous settlers from the illicit Givat Ronen outpost tried to reach the area where the planting took place, but they were overlooked by the army force, which coordinated the event.

Numerous lawyers were also presented at the Friday planting event, including the Joint Ahmad Tibi and Meretz’s Gaby Lasky and Mossi Raz.

After the event, lawyers visited the vacated illicit outpost of Evyatar after the broke of news on Wednesday morning that ex-attorney general Avichai Mandelblit had approved a settlement deal between the authority and settlers to legalize the outpost in his final hours in the office.

The move was very controversial among the ideologically diverse government coalition, but they still require the final acceptance of Defense Minister Benny Gantz.

On January 21, masked immigrants from the outpost attacked Palestinians and left-wing Israeli activists with clubs and stones, injuring at least six and burning a car, as per the statement by police.

No arrests have been reported so far.
