Gaza City – The Palestinian community in Gaza, has held a mourning march because of the killings of three Palestinians by Israeli forces in Nablus’s occupied West Bank city, with protestors claiming the killings as a crime and blaming the Palestinian Authority that they are cooperating with Israel on their security.
Dozens of protestors were the part of the march which took place in Gaza City on February 9, Wednesday, the next day after the Israeli forces in a civilian vehicle reportedly opened fire on a car in the Nablus’s al-Makhfieh neighbourhood, killing three Palestinians identified as Ashraf Mubaslat, Adham Mabrouka and Muhammad Dakhil.
Ismail Radwan, a spokesman for the Palestinian group Hamas, which controls Gaza, explained the killings as adding “to the record of Israeli crimes”.
According to Ashraf Mubaslat, Adham Mabrouka, “We will not stay silent, and we call on our people in the West Bank to continue fighting the trade in all forms in response to this crime.”
Radwan further stated that, “The march which took place in Gaza shows the unity of Palestinian people, but at the same time, he criticized the Fatah-led PA, which administers parts of the West Bank and collaborates with Israel on security.”
“We tell the Palestinian Authority that this incident is one of the fruits of the policy of security coordination and meeting with the leaders of the occupation,” said Radwan.
“It is time to examine this policy, which only serves the Israeli occupation.”
The Palestinian Authority has called the killings as a “heinous crime” and urged for an international investigation.
Some at the march blamed a meeting this week of the Palestinian Central Council, the second-highest decision-making body in the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO)- the globally recognized representative of Palestinians, which PA President Mahmoud Abbas Leads.
Several Palestinian blocs boycotted the two-day meeting that began on Monday. They blamed the council for excluding other groups and filling top PA leadership positions with Abbas loyalists.
The Israeli enemy killed the three saints before even writing the final statement of the PLO’s Central Council meeting,a senior member in the Islamic Jihad movement, said.
According to Mahir al-Afifi, “On a daily basis, there are so many Israeli attacks happened by the side of soldiers and settlers against our people in the West Bank.
