Teen killed by forces of Israel in West Bank village shooting

One Palestinian man has been shot and killed by the force of Israel in the occupied West Bank village of Nabi Saleh, as per the health ministry, during the incident witnesses described as a conflict between protestors and the soldiers of Israel.

On Tuesday, the Palestinian health ministry stated that a Palestinian citizen was killed by Israeli fire in Nabi Saleh, northwest of Ramallah.

As per some local sources that found that the victim was 19 years old and resident of Nehad Amin Barghouti, and according to them, he died after police fired bullets in the abdomen area”, and soon he was sent to the hospital and declared dead by doctors.

Furthermore, while investigating, it was found that the victim was a political prisoner and hailed from Kafr Ein.

Fights smashed between the Palestinians and Israeli troops when they were entering the Nabi Saleh, and then Israeli troops fired live rounds, as well as tear gas towards the crowds.

As per the Israeli army spokesperson, he was looking into the incident when it was happening.

Last week, one more young boy was killed, and this is the second death of a teenage boy by Israeli gunfire near the West Bank town of Jenin.

His name was ‘Mohammed Abu Saleh, 17 years old, was also shot dead during protests that exploded as Israeli forces arrived late on Sunday to destroy the home of Muhammad Jaradat, a man accused of killing an illegal Jewish settler late last year.

According to the Palestinian health ministry, dozens were injured by live bullets and rubber-coated steel bullets fired by the Israeli army.

Israeli forces killed three other Palestinians in Nablus in the occupied West Bank a week before. The Palestinian and international rights groups have long criticised what they see as a shoot-to-kill policy and excessive use of force.

According to the ‘B’Tselem’ an Israeli rights group had recorded 77 Palestinian deaths at the hands of Israeli forces in the West Bank in 2021. It added that it did not implicate more than half of those killed in any attacks.

Last month, there were new reports that came by ‘Amnesty International. They stated that Israel was carrying out the crime of apartheid against Palestinians and must be held accountable for treating them as an inferior racial group.

Israel settled the West Bank and East Jerusalem after the 1967 Middle East war.

According to the law, Israeli territories built on Palestinian land are considered illegal. It is estimated that nearly 600,000 and 7,50,000 Israeli settlers live in 250 illicit regions in the West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem.
