According to the Russian envoy on February 22 that talks are going on in order to come on a deal to curb Iran’s nuclear programme and ease the sanctions are near the end and finally concluding and as per sources close to the negotiations, a prisoner swap between Iran and the United States is expected soon.

As per the tweet by ‘Mikhail Ulyanov’ “Apparently, the negotiations on restoration of #JCPOA are all about to cross the finish line.”

The reports stated that a US-Iranian deal was taking shape in Vienna last week after months of talks between Tehran and major powers to revive the nuclear deal pact, abandoned in 2018 by then-US President Donald Trump’ who also reimposed extensive sanctions on Iran.

A draft of text in which they are going to sign agreement indicated only vaguely to other issues, said diplomats, and also mentioned that all they meant was unfreezing billions of dollars in Iranian funds in South Korean banks released their Western prisoners held in Iran.

U.S. negotiator Robert Malley has advised that securing the nuclear deal is unlikely unless Tehran frees four U.S. citizens, including Iranian-American father and son Baquer and Siamak Namazi, whom Washington says Tehran is holding hostage.
