Police arrested an Israeli citizen in Saudi Arabia for an angry rant in a pharmacy when he was claiming that Israel is the best country in the world.
After his statement, as per his family, the person’sperson’s name is “Sammi al-Obara” 40, a residence of Bedouin city of Rhat in the southern Negev region has diabetes which was the reason for his behaviour.
According to reports, he was arrested on Tuesday, February 22, during a pilgrimage to the kingdom.
Israel has no good relationship with Israel, which could complicate the circumstances and efforts to secure his release.
Mussa Obara, a relative, said that the arrested man has diabetes and “”sometimes, because of the disease, he can’tcan’t control the way he behaves.””
Furthermore, Mussa stated that Obara was not in his sense when he entered the pharmacy and became agitated at the service he was given. Workers called the police, who arrested him.
The family of Obara pleaded to Saudi officials and at the same time, explained the condition of Obara that he was unwell and not in control. Mussa said they have also asked MK Mansour Abbas, the Islamist Ra’am party leader, which is part of Israel’s ruling coalition, and others for help.
The Foreign Minister said that he is investigating the matter.
There is a video that went viral on social media, and that video was apparently made by Obara himself on Tuesday, which showed him raging in the pharmacy at the service he was given.
The clip shows a hand holding a form with Arabic writing on it. In the video, Obara rages that he had wanted to see a doctor but was instead sent to the pharmacy.
He then said that “I swear to it, my brother, we live a good country. Israel is the best country in the world.” He then repeats the last sentence.
“The workers of the pharmacy did not like it and called the police, who arrested him, as per Mussa that Obara’s remand has been extended until Sunday.
Obara, who is single, reached Saudi Arabia last Friday with a large group of family and friends to make a pilgrimage to Mecca.
