Cairo: Saudi authorities of justice have directed a lawyer to a disciplinary inquiry for posting tweets considered offensive to women celebrating the Kingdom’s Founding Day last week, as per the media reports.
As per the sources, the lawyer whose name was mentioned but sent it to a disciplinary board for acting in a way violating the profession’s ethics and code of conduct.
The man had criticized and defamed people that they were celebrating a national occasion and also added that the paper without specifying the nature of the offence.
If anybody is found guilty of the violations, the lawyer could have his name stricken off the legal practice roster in the country.
As per some media reports that the lawyer had posted tweets which is critical women who seemed wrapped in colorful traditional costumes marking the Founding Day that Saudi Arabia celebrated for the first time on February 22.
The Founding Day celebrates the founding of the first Saudi state in 1727 by Imam Mohammed bin Saud.
Last month, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz announced February 22 every year as the kingdom’s Founding Day and an official holiday.
