Saudi Arabia: Darm Boontham, Ambassador Designate of Thailand to Saudi Arabia, presented a copy of his letters of credence to Abdulmajeed Al-Smari, Acting Deputy Minister for Protocol Affairs of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Saudi Arabia, on behalf of Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Foreign Affairs Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on November 2, 2022.
After submitting a copy of the letters, they discussed the ways through which they could boost the relations and ties between Thailand and Saudi Arabia.
The hidden reports of the Protocol Affairs Department of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Saudi Arabia will fully support the Thai Ambassador during his tenure.
Moreover, on January 26, 2022, Saudi Arabia and Thailand fully agreed to restore their ties with the countries and also decided to exchange their ambassadors soon.
Not only they agreed to appoint ambassadors, but they also agreed to establish a consultative tool to strengthen bilateral cooperation, where communication will be strengthened in the coming months to discuss bilateral coordination in key strategic areas,” as per the statement.
According to the Prime Minister of Thailand, they share a great bond of relationship and friendship with Saudi Arabia and will soon resolve all the misunderstandings between the two sides. He also expressed his grief for the tragic cases which happened in Thailand between 1989 – 1990.
He also assured them that if they get the proof, they will again try to resolve the mystery, and they are ready to bring the cases to the consideration of the qualified Thailand authorities if new well-founded proof relating to the cases should emerge.
Thailand also committed to Saudi Arabia that they would also increase the security of the members of the Saudi mission in accordance with the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic ties in Bangkok.
Both sides also restated their responsibilities to do their most to make sure the safety and security of each other’s nationals in their respective countries.
