Saudi Arabia is marking its 94th National Day with a grand display of patriotism and pride, highlighted by massive fireworks shows across the Kingdom.
The nationwide celebrations, held on September 23, 2024, are organized by the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), with fireworks displays set to illuminate the skies in multiple regions simultaneously.
The displays, designed to be a spectacular visual treat for citizens and visitors alike, will take place in key cities, including Riyadh, Jeddah, and Al-Khobar, among others.
In the capital Riyadh, the fireworks will dazzle spectators at Umm Ajlan Park, with the show starting at 9 p.m. local time and lasting for seven minutes.
Meanwhile, in Jeddah, the display will light up the iconic Jeddah Promenade, and residents of Al-Khobar can catch the spectacle near the northern Khobar Corniche.
Beyond these major cities, fireworks will also be held in other regions, including Buraidah, Tabuk, Madinah, Abha, Hail, Arar, Najran, Al-Baha, Al-Jouf, and Jazan.
Each location will serve as a hub for local celebrations, ensuring that the National Day festivities reach people in all corners of the Kingdom.
For those unable to attend in person, the Saudia Channel and Saudia Alaan will broadcast live coverage of the fireworks from various cities, allowing the public to witness the grandeur of the celebration from home.
‘We Dream, We Achieve’
Saudi National Day, celebrated annually on September 23, marks the unification of the Kingdoms of Najd and Hijaz by King Abdulaziz Al Saud in 1932, laying the foundation for the modern Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This year’s theme, “We Dream, We Achieve,” underscores the country’s vision for the future, reflecting its ambitious transformation under the Vision 2030 program.
The theme, carried over from last year’s slogan, highlights Saudi Arabia’s journey of change and progress, with a focus on ongoing development projects.
The Vision 2030 initiative, introduced by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, seeks to diversify the country’s economy away from oil dependency, fostering growth in tourism, entertainment, and other key sectors.
More Than Just Fireworks
In addition to the fireworks, several other events are planned across the Kingdom to honor National Day.
Air Force shows featuring military jets and helicopters are expected to take place, adding a patriotic flair to the celebrations.
Concerts, traditional performances, and cultural displays will also bring communities together, reinforcing the spirit of national pride.
The festivities not only pay tribute to the Kingdom’s rich heritage but also its forward-looking aspirations.
With the nation continuing its transformative journey, the celebrations serve as a reminder of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to achieving its goals, guided by its cultural values and historical legacy.
As Saudis unite to commemorate this special day, the National Day celebration stands as a reflection of both the country’s storied past and its promising future, bringing citizens together under the banner of national pride and shared dreams.
