Doha: Qatar Scientific Club showcases its numerous devices and equipment under its MakerSpace programmed during the three days Najah Qatari Forum, which is going to start on Thursday and end on Saturday at Qatar National Convention Centre.
While speaking to the Peninsula, one of the club volunteers, ‘Fateem Al Qahtani’, stated that they have several types of equipment that they can display at their booth in which 3D printer for solid prototype and flexible printing items.

The booth also presents Arduino, robotic UV light, a new surface sanitization technology developed in collaboration with Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa), submitted late last year.
This is globally the first educational prayer rug, especially for every Muslim ‘Sajdah’ displayed at the booth. It teaches new Muslims how to pray appropriately through its LED screen.
It has an app control to set the prayer’s speed and guides who handles the functions, both downloadable on smartphones and smart watch devices. This device provides everything in two languages, English and Arabic.
Maker Space is the most advanced technology platform in the region. Last year, they launched the advancements in order to adopt the fourth revolution in modern, digital technologies enabling the Internet of things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in designing and fabrication processes.
It has a total of eight sections: Digital fabrication laboratory, Electronics and Telecommunications Laboratory, Robotics and AI Laboratory, Engineering Design Studio, Carpentry Workshop, Innovation Incubator, Project Implementation and Assembly Workshop, and Material Library.
Among the devices and equipment it presently houses are Multi-Axis CNC Machine, Laser Device, 3D Printers, Vinyl Cutter, 3D Design Software, Robotic Arm, Wood Sawing Machine, Axial Cutting Device, 3D Scanners, Auxiliary Manual Machines, Electronic Circuit Fabrication Device, And Electronic And Telecommunications Devices.
