In the wake of climate change, Israel has issued a new national plan to plant 450,000 trees worth rupees of $716mn in the whole country, as per the joint statement issued by Ministries of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and Rural Development.
According to sources, the plan is at a total of 716 million shekels, which includes planting trees along about 3 million metres of streets by 2040.
The plan, which aims to prepare for climate change, was approved by the government after Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, submitted along with the Minister of Environmental Protection Tamar Zandberg and Minister of Agriculture Oded Forer.
Moreover, they will execute their planting plan through artificial intelligence mapping of the existing tree shade cover in the local authorities.
“The trees will also significantly reduce heat spots, protect from the heavy rains and reduce further negative consequences of climate change and pollution,” as per the authorities.
