Dubai: According to reports, an Egyptian nurse was sentenced to seven years in jail, while another Egyptian man received a four-year jail sentence for generating a COVID-19 vaccination certificate.

The court has also imposed a fine on that man, and he has to pay 800 dinars fine.

According to the sources from the school, the nurse who was working with the Ministry of Health reportedly accepted a 100 dinars bribe in order to get the certificate.

After that, the couple will be deported from the country after serving jail terms.

This is not the first time that Kuwait has witnessed a case like this where employees were caught forging PCR or vaccination certificates. Last year in 2021, authorities arrested three nurses for issuing forged COVID-19 vaccination certificates.

In February this year, Kuwait forces also arrested a laboratory technician who issued over 60 generated COVID-19 PCR tests for $99 per certificate, according to local reports.

As per sources, it is identified that suspect is an Asian Laboratory technician who agreed to manufacture polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test certificates for $99, taking a commission of nearly $20 per certificate while giving the rest of the amount to his clinic.

Even last year police of Kuwait arrested an Indian nurse for developing Covid-19 vaccination certificates for money. The other two nurses were from Egypt.

The three nurses working at the Al Jahra hospital were apprehended following a tip-off and charged with several offences, including forgery.

According to Sources, the charge asked people to register in the Health Ministry platform and fraudulently expedited their vaccination dates.

On the registered dates, the people got messages stating that they had received the first and then second doses of the vaccine and after that received vaccination certificates, the report said.

The nurses have reportedly confessed to charging 250-300 Dinars to (Over Rs 61000-Rs 74,276).
