PM Roosevelt Skerrit successfully concludes Saudi Arabia-CARICOM Summit

Roosevelt Skerrit, the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, concluded the inaugural Saudi Arabia-CARICOM Summit. He took to his social media account to share his delight at the successful culmination of the event.

Through the initiative, the leaders of Saudi Arabia and the Caribbean want to foster strong bilateral relationships with one another.

PM Skerrit co-chaired the summit alongside Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. As chairperson of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), he was responsible for leading the various heads of state from around the region to the event.

Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica shared a video from the Saudi Arabia- CARICOM Summit on his social media. The video showed some CARICOM leaders at the summit greeting their Saudi Arabian hosts.

President of Guyana, Irfaan Ali

Prime Minister of Haiti, Ariel Henry
Prime Minister of Jamaica, Andrew Holness
Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew
Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Philip J Pierre
CARICOM Secretary-General, Carla Barnett
And several others.

The one-day summit took place on Thursday, November 16, 2023. It was a platform to strengthen collaboration and identify new avenues for cooperation and investments.

The leaders of the CARICOM discussed the collaboration in areas such as agriculture, renewable energy, tourism and infrastructural development. The people of Dominica appreciated their prime minister for vouching for their welfare on the international platform.

Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit took to his social media to announce that he is looking forward to better collaboration with Saudi Arabia.

Social media user Mava Harry thanked the prime minister for representing Dominica with grace overseas. His comment read:
