Basseterre Saint Kitts and Nevis: Dr Terrance Drew – The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, has met with numerous global leaders from across the world during the Coronation Ceremony of King Charles III held on May 06, 2023.
Prime Minister Terrance Drew had extensive interaction with his counterparts and influential world leaders regarding a number of aspects and visions for the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis.
According to the reports, during his visit to the United Kingdom, London, he was accompanied by his special delegation, including Governor General Dame Marcella Liburd, GCMG, JP and began his second day by attending a Small Island Developing States (SIDS) breakfast which was organized by the Foreign Office of UK in to honor the SIDS.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Terrance Drew also met with David Rutley MP, the Secretary of State for the Americas and Caribbean, along with Graham Stuart MP, Minister of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, said reports.
Furthermore, it was also reported that Prime Minster Terrance Drew also extended his remarks while presenting his vision and future plans for transforming St Kitts and Nevis into a Sustainable Island Country.
He stressed that the Caribbean country seeks strategic partnerships with other nations across the world without limiting the growth of the nation with Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita.
In addition, while sharing his vision, PM Drew outlined one of the significant projects in the Federation, such as Geothermal projects and expansion of the Fisheries industry. Through this, he assured his fellow leaders that St Kitts and Nevis is moving on a progressive path to achieve the ultimate goal of becoming a Sustainable Small Island State.
The reports have outlined that the guests were invited to take part in a reception hosted by the United Kingdom Foreign Secretary at Church House adjacent to Westminster Abbey, where the Coronation ceremony was held on May 06.
The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Terrance Drew, along with his delegation including, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Denzil L. Douglas and Governor-General Dame Marcella Liburd, GCMG, JP, also interacted with James Cleverly, the UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs. It was stated a number of other leaders from different countries also held an extensive word with PM, Drew.
Moreover, PM Drew also shared his belief regarding the improvement and following a strategic response regarding the number of issues in front of the government of St Kitts and Nevis, such as water issues, renewables, and developing mechanisms to manage the Federation’s marine resources sustainably.
During the end, he used the opportunity to extend his remarks during his dialogue with the Senior United Nations (UN) official and expressed his view pointe regarding the universal healthcare approach adopted by St Kitts and Nevis and asked for assistance in enhancing the healthcare sector in the Caribbean region.
