Dominica: The DA Sports Vybez organization has recently shared an update regarding the newly formed squads of the Best Vs Best Series announced by the Windward Island Cricket Board (WICB) for a Best versus Best Red Ball Two Match Series scheduled for the Grenada National Stadium on January 12 to 14 and January 17 to 19, 2023.
As per the updates, the information was shared on the official social media handle of the DA Sports Vybez official social media account, which is a Dominican organization working to enhance sports along with pushing athletes and sportspersons forward in their athletic careers.
The reports have stated that the tournament will be organized by the Windward Island Cricket Board (WICB) in January 2023, and the selectors have already selected the players in both team A and Team B for the matches, which read as follows,
Team A:
During the tournament, Team A in the upcoming game of Red Ball Best versus Best will be led by the captain, Sunil Ambris, and Teddy Bishop, a West Indies Academy Batsman with a host of emerging players.
Furthermore, Team A’s squad will include Johann Jeremiah, Derson Maloney, Justin Greaves, Keron Cottoy, Tevyn Walcott, Stephen Naitram, Tarrique Edward, Larry Edwards, Preston Mcsween, Daurius Martin and Nicklaus Redhead, along with Asif Hooper.
TEAM B:
On the other hand, in the Best versus Best tournament, Team B will be playing under the captaincy and leadership of rising Dominican left-handed batsman Alick Athanaze, along with captain and Academy Batsman of West Indies Under-19 team Ackeem Auguste.
Apart from them, Team B will include Gidron Pope, Kimani Melius, Jerlani Robinson, Kavem Hodge, Denis Smith, Shadrack Descarte, Gian Benjamin, Kenneth Dember, Darel Cyrus, Ryan John and Josh Thomas, along with Rayan Williams.
The DA Sports management further confirmed that the motive of the upcoming three-day matches organized by the Windward Island Cricket Board is to provide the players with the best and necessary and much-needed match practice before the forthcoming West Indies regional four-day Championship in the year later on January 31 this year.
In the end, the management of the Windward Island Cricket Board conveyed that it would be an opportunity for the Windward Selection committee to watch and asses the players playing at their best, allowing them to select the best team for the championship later in 2023.
