St Kitts and News: PM congratulates female cricketer Jahzara Claxton

Prime Minister Terrance Drew, Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, congratulated a woman cricketer for her extraordinary achievement. Female cricketer, namely Jahzara Claxton, had been selected recently for the West Indies Women’s “A” team.

The West Indies Women’s “A” team for which Jahzara has been selected will go to Pakistan to play matches from October 18 to November 9, 2023.

PM Dr drew had described her success as a symbol of freedom women enjoy in The St Kitts and Nevis. He called this a milestone in the history of St Kitts and Nevis sports , Especially for the Women’s sports of the country.

Dr drew also met to mother, Ika Francis of Jahzara Claxton and congratulated her on the achievement of her daughter. He also ensured her mother for every kind of assistance they needed in future.

He further added that every citizen of the country is feeling proud of Jahzara’s achievement, and we wish her the best of luck. We wish she play well and bring laurels to the region. He again added that everyone is waiting for the moment when she will return to the country along with winning  trophy.

PM Dr Drew stressed that his federal government is making every possible effort to bring prosperity in the field of sports of the St. Kitts and Nevis. The government’s agenda is also to provide financial support to sportsperson so that they can concentrate on their game without any fear of financial insecurity.

It is to be specifically mentioned that this is not the first time Jazara is going to play from the West Indies side. Previously, she was part of the West Indies’s under-19 team that visited India to play cricket matches.

Recently she was also a part of the Barbados Royals Women’s Cricket Team, team won the Women’s Caribbean Premier League title.
