St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew attended the Father’s Day Chill on June 15, 2024. There, he celebrated the occasion with the fathers of constituency #8 at the vibrant event of pre-Father’s Day Chill.
Prime Minister Drew spent great time with the fathers and shared the snippets on his official social media platform. He also shared a note in which he expressed his happiness after the celebration and wished all the fathers a very Happy Father’s Day.
Reportedly, the Father’s Chill Day was celebrated on Saturday, at Conaree National Heroes Park, 1:00 p.m. At the event, they had free food including Goat Water & Bull-Foot Soup, Grilled Fish, Conch & Chicken with Rice, Pie along with Bakes and Salad.
Free Drinks will also be offered inclusive of Top Shelf & Brewery. The celebration also featured Board Games, Races and many more other recreational activities for fun such as Live Music performances and Karaoke.
Earlier, PM Drew shared a photograph of him with his son and wife Diani Jimesha Prince-Drew. While sharing the picture he expressed that he took the opportunity to wish all fathers a Happy Father’s Day.
He added that he and his family has just came back from service at Rivers of Living Water Christian Centre of St. Kitts and Nevis,where they prayed for all and especially the fathers on Father’s Day.
Father’s Day is a holiday in order of honouring one’s father, as well as the fatherhood. It is celebrated to strengthen the paternal bonds and the influence of fathers in the society.
The holiday complements similar celebrations honouring the family members, such as Mother’s Day and in some countries, Siblings Day and Grandparents Day also.
As per the sources, the day is held on various dates across the world, considering the different regions and maintaining their own traditions of honouring fatherhood. However, commonly it is celebrated in the month of June.
