St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew expressed his emotions over the occurring Hurricane Beryl in the Caribbean region. He said that he just left the White Sands prematurely to communicate with colleague Prime Ministers Gonsalves of St. Vincent and Grenadines, Mitchell of Grenada, Mottley of Barbados and Pierre of Saint Lucia.
PM Drew said that St. Kitts and Nevis stands completely with the nations SVG, Grenada, Barbados and Saint Lucia as they braced for the passage of Hurricane Beryl. He continued and said that let us continue to keep our brothers and sisters in our thoughts and prayers.
In his earlier social media post, Prime Minister Drew explained that the St. Kitts and Nevis continue to see the effects of the climate crisis. As hurricane Beryl has formed. It is a rare early storm and the first hurricane for the season 2024.
A prediction was also made which confirms that it is a major Category-04 hurricane. Considering this, Prime Minister Drew asked to keep the sister islands Barbados, Grenada, St. Vincent and Grenadines, Saint Lucia and others in Beryl path in our prayers.
The hurricane season has been predicted to be active and may set records. The prime minister of St. Kitts and Nevis has urged all to remain vigilant and be prepared to fight the disaster that will be caused by the natural calamity Hurricane Beryl.
Beryl is the first hurricane of the Atlantic Season 2024 that is intensified and classified to an extremely dangerous Category-4 hurricane. The natural calamity sustained with maximum winds of 130 mph on Sunday, as it made its way towards the Windwards Islands.
