St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew’s visit to schools continues, as he pays his visit to another Independence School, to commemorate the Independence Day of St. Kitts and Nevis. During his visit he engaged with the students and interacted with them.
Considering this, PM Drew said that their Independence school visits continues and engaged with the bright stars that filled him with hope and pride. He also mentioned that as they celebrate 41st Independence Day with the next generation, who will shape their nation’s future, are equally important to them as other citizens.
Earlier, on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, the Federal Cabinet concluded the Independence School Tours of this year. The tour was concluded by visiting the various secondary schools on the island such as Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC).
Prime Minister Drew said that much alike the primary school students, the high schoolers were very much excited to see and interact with the Ministers of Government and Parliamentary Representatives.
According to PM Drew the initiative was dubbed as one of the most anticipated events on the annual Independence calendar of activities and one of the ministers themselves looked forward to each year.
Dr. Terrance Drew said that he shared some early shots from the School Visit of Cabinet Ministers. The annual undertaking is among one of the signature events on the Independence calendar of activities. It allows the youth of the nation to interact directly with the leaders of the Government.
The visits by PM Dr. Terrance Drew and the Cabinet Ministers have been made to commemorate the Independence Day.
Independence Day of St. Kitts and Nevis is a significant occasion which is celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor every year on September-19. The day marks the freedom of the nation from British colonial rule, as it gained the Independence in the year 1983.
Theme for this year’s 41st Anniversary of Independence Day is, “Together, a People, Proud and Strong: Independence 41”. The selected theme is dynamic and unifying, which is crafted by Vincia Alexander of Lime Kiln Project Extension.
It was organised and selected from over 200 outstanding entries in this year’s Independence Theme Competition. The announcement was made by Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew, during the sitting of the National Assembly held on July 05, 2024.
Announcing about the theme, PM Drew stated that this year’s theme, ‘Together, a People, Proud and Strong: Independence 41’ that reflects the essence of the national identity.
Prime Minister added that it is a call to celebrate the collective achievements and to continue building a future filled with hope and togetherness.
