St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew welcomed the first child born on the Independence Day. He greeted the baby along with the Cabinet Ministers, who visited the Joseph N. France Hospital.
Considering this, he shared the snippets through a post on his official social media handle on Facebook and expressed that he extended a heartfelt congratulations to the parents on the arrival of their beautiful baby girl on the auspicious occasion of Independence Day.
PM Drew, his wife Diani Jimesha Prince Drew and the Cabinet Ministers wished her a life filled with health and happiness. They celebrated the birth of the baby girl at the hospital and welcomed her with love and enthusiasm.
Reportedly, the ministers had also welcomed and had pleasure meeting another baby born, who was born on National Heroes Day. The ministers offered warmest congratulations to the parents, of the baby as well.
The National Heroes Day was observed on September 16, in St. Kitts and Nevis. it provided an opportunity for the nation to honour the contributions of the five giants who lead the transformation of the twin-island Federation.
National Heroes Day celebrates the bravery of Late Sir Robert L. Bradshaw, Sir C.A. Paul Southwell, Sir Joseph N. France and Sir Simeon Daniel as well as Sir Kennedy A. Simmonds.
The day is marked with a tinge of anticipation as the newest members of the National Honours Awards were revealed.
Recipients of the 2024 Companion of the Star of Merit and the Medal of Honour were announced by the Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew during the National Heroes Day address.
While extending the National Address, PM Dr. Drew paid tribute to the many unsung heroes in society. He said that they are the teachers who nurture young minds.
According to him they are the healthcare workers who provide care and comfort. They are also being the community leaders who brings people together and the everyday citizens who strengthen and fabricate the society through their actions.
Prime Minister noted that the St. Kitts and Nevis stands at crossroads with the potential for people to shape a bright and prosperous future which is shaped by the sacrifices of the elders. PM Drew emphasised that “Together, as one people, proud and strong, we can achieve this.”
