St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew visited Southern University and A&M College, in Baton Rouge, LA, Louisiana. There with other officials, he negotiated more educational opportunities for people in terms of full and partial scholarships.
PM Drew continued his efforts to advance agricultural development by touring the SUAREC University on October 02, 2024. Their visit marked a part of a broader initiative that aimed at strengthening ties with international institutions that can bring strategic value to St. Kitts and Nevis.
During the tour, Prime Minister Drew was accompanied by Chancellor Dr. Orlando McMeans and other key academics. Together they examined the Southern University’s innovations in areas such as horticulture, livestock management, agricultural sustainability, crop enhancement and medicinal plant research.
Reportedly, the goal is to provide affordable educational opportunities so that the citizens are well-prepared to meet the challenges of the 21st century and create pathways to success.
Considering this, PM Drew extended their gratitude to Dr. Hadiya Claxton, who is the Special Envoy for Investment, Development and International Business Relations, the leadership of Southern University and the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis for the excellent collaboration.
Southern University and A&M College is a public historically black land-grant university in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The university id the largest historically black college or university in Louisiana. It is a member school of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund and the flagship institution of the Southern University System.
