St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew attended a State Dinner in his honour with the students who are currently studying at Southern University. He attended the dinner when he was in Louisiana.
Reportedly, the event was organised by the Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College, which was attended by notable figures including Chairman – Myron Lawson and other SU Board Members considering the President – Dennis Shields.
It also involved the chancellors, vice-chancellors, vice-presidents, deans, administrators, faculty, staff and Miss Southern. The dinner also consisted of Student Government Association President, Alumni Director, Alumni, Judges, Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus members and other State Representatives from the State of Louisiana.
Along with all these delegates, Louisiana Commissioner of Higher Education – Dr. Kim Hunter Reed, lobbyists and city constables were also invited at the State Dinner.

While extending his remarks, PM Drew emphasised the strong partnership between the university and the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. He expressed the gratitude towards the management of the university for their continuous support.
Prime Minister Drew reaffirmed his commitment to foster the further collaboration. His commitment ensures that both the nationals of the Federation and the university continued to receive benefits from the relationship.
Considering this, Dr. Drew pledged to introduce the Southern University to other Caribbean islands to expand the partnership further.
PM Drew shared the glimpses from the State Dinner on his official social media handle and expressed that last evening, he had the opportunity to meet the first batch of the students whoa re enrolled at Southern University and A&M College – Baton Rouge, LA.
Furthermore, he emphasised that he encouraged them to work hard, strive for excellence and to be great ambassadors for the beautiful twin-island Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.
According to PM Drew he must reiterate the gratitude to the Southern University for the most meaningful collaboration.
Following this, citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis supported the initiative by the government. A person named Bunny Bun, praised the Prime Minister and commented, “I love it when persons, especially young persons are afforded the opportunity to excel. Make your Federation proud.”
Another person named, Naomi Harris, also extended her wishes and said, “Congratulations to All make your Nation proud of you keep up.”
