Dominica: Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit met the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Commonwealth of Dominica – Cornelis Hersbach. The meeting was observed at the Prime Minister’s Office.
Previously, before the meeting the Ambassador presented his credentials to the President of Dominica – Sylvanie Burton. Considering this, PM Skerrit presented his gratitude and expressed that he is grateful to the Ambassador Hersbach.
During the meeting with PM Skerrit, Ambassador Cornelis Hersbach promised to extend his full support to Dominica following the devastation occured due to the Tropical Storm Erika and Hurricane Maria.
The Ambassador of the Netherlands to the Commonwealth of Dominica reaffirmed the commitment, that was made to strengthen the relationship between the two nations.
The gathering hold the discussions related to important matters that concern the development of the Commonwealth of Dominica. It also considered the discussion in relation to its economic growth and bilateral ties of Dominica with the Netherlands.
As both the nations are connected to each other and share great bonds, the countries are bound to fulfill the commitment that completely requires each other’s support to grow and develop.
Minister for Finance, Economic Development, Climate Resilience and Social Security – Dr. Irving McIntyre and Permanent Secretary in the office of the Prime Minister – Missi Henderson were also present during the meeting held between the Prime Minister Skerrit and Ambassador Hersbach.
The Ambassador of the Netherlands also attended the President Calls of Dominica for greater collaboration between the International Community and Small Island Developing States.
Notably, the President of Dominica – Sylvanie Burton issued a new call for the greater collaboration between the International Community and Small Island Developing States.
President’s call came on Monday morning as Dominica welcomed a new Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands – Cornelis Hersbach.
Meanwhile, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Dominica – Cornelis Hersbach said that the Dominica must be applauded for its action against the climate change.
Following this, many praised the prime minister and shared their responses in the comment section on the post shared by PM Skerrit on his official social media handle.
