St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew with his wife Diani Jimesha Prince-Drew witnessed the Essence of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation’s Annual Pink Walk.
It was the 16th Annual Pink Walk, which was organised on October 26, 2024. This was a fun-filled, family-friendly event which began at 5:30 a.m. from the Lime Kiln parking lot (opposite Best Buy Supermarket) in Basseterre and the Frigate Bay Lawn.
The officials welcomed friends and families living in the nation to join them and walk together in support of breast cancer awareness.
Considering this, PM Drew shared the glimpses of the Pink Walk and said that Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers in the Federation and disproportionally affects women.

He mentioned that activities like these are important to raise awareness and funds in the fight against breast cancer.
As per the sources, the beginning of the month October is globally recognised as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It raises awareness and supports the important cause, throughout the month.
During this awareness event, Prime Minister Drew along with his wife encouraged everyone. The event involved individuals, businesses and organisations taking action and showing support in meaningful ways.
Some of the important things observed were wearing pink, people came in their pink attire in solidarity with those who are affected by breast cancer.

The Pink Walk also conducted ‘Support Awareness Activities’, people participated in breast cancer related events and initiatives. Another segment of ‘Educate Yourself and Others’ was also observed. In this people were educated about breast cancer and were taught about the Essence of Hope that stands ready to provide presentations and informational sessions in workplaces, community spaces or anywhere it is needed.
An activity named ‘Decorate Your Spaces’ was also arranged which included Pink up your office spaces to help in spreading awareness. ‘Light it Up Pink’ was also observed in which the participants illuminate the exterior of your buildings in pink each night, symbolizing hope, unity and remembrance.
The event was all in whole a great success and observed a beacon of hope and action.
