St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew attended the St. Peter’s Festival Parade, last week. The festival is a big event organized in the nation.
Sharing the glimpses from the St. Peter’s Festival PM Drew expressed that it was great to see so many residents coming together. He said that it feels good to see every citizen celebrating together and enjoying themselves at the event.
Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew inaugurated the St. Peter’s festival on October 05, 2024 and got concluded on October 27, 2024. Past week, he visited the St. Peter’s and expressed his gratitude towards the festival committee.
The festival officially began with the ‘family food fair’ on October 06. The festival also included football tournaments along with the cricket league. PM Drew expressed further that the festival will unite the community of St. Peter’s.
Moreover, in 2024 St. Peter’s community is celebrating the festival with a theme known as, “One Community Moving with Togetherness.” Dr. Drew also stated that over the years he has contributed notably towards the festival.
A series of fun games was also observed at the event. Along with such fun activities, the festival was full packed with sports tournaments and competitions. The competitions for opening day included 4-legged race, 100m race and 3-legged race.
The events also included lime and spoon race, wheelbarrow race, dog and bone along with tug of war. Football tournaments and the cricket league have also started on October 08 and 09, respectively.
Another event conducted was ‘Walk for Peace’, which was based on a special theme. St. Peter’s Festival organised the event to advocate for the importance of mental health on October 12, 2024.
Keeping in mind, a special event was organised for older adults on October 13, 2024. The event was organised to appreciate the elder individuals for their contribution towards the community.
Prime Minister Dr. Drew of St. Kitts and Nevis added to his statement that every year they have contributed significantly to the festival. It is a cultural extravaganza that seeks to bring the great state of St. Peter’s together.
The festival has also celebrated the ‘Frieye Concert’ on October 25, 2024. The concert invited the local artists and musicians. However, the venues such as Champion’s Bar in Port Zante, Family Shack at Lower Money Hill and all B’s Snackette at Douglas Estate also provided the tickets for the festival.
St. Peter’s Festival also observed the Pageant competition known as ‘St. Peter’s Queen Pageant’ that celebrated the young talents across the community on October 27, 2024.
Several different events were celebrated under the distinguished themes that addressed the societal issues, such as crime and violence, mental heal and ignorance towards the adults.
Notably, music, dance, food, games and sports were also arranged to bring the unity to the community of St. Peter’s.
