St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew extended his wishes to the 25 Most Remarkable Teens (2024 Cohort), who were honored during a Special Sitting of the National Assembly for their exceptional achievements in various areas.
The 25 recipients were recognised for their accomplishments and actions in numerous special fields such as academics, sports, entrepreneurship, leadership, volunteerism, youth activism and spiritual commitment.
Recognizing the remarkable teens, PM Drew said that those outstanding young people filled him with great hope, as they embodied the bright future of the Federation and served as a role model to their peers.
Reportedly, Members of the Federal Parliament and the Department of Youth Empowerment paid tribute to the courage, inspiration, leadership and overall excellence of twenty-five (25) of the nation’s outstanding youngsters on Wednesday, November 06, 2024.
The annual 25 Most Remarkable Teen Awards Ceremony was held in the form of a Special Sitting of the National Assembly. The award ceremony is one of the highlight activities for the annual observance of Youth Month.
The thirteenth cohort of 25 Most Remarkable Teens in St. Kitts and Nevis were recognised in a number of traditional and non-traditional areas considering Performing Arts and School Pride, Environmental Science, Scholar Athlete, Spirit of Hope, Courage to Overcome, Most Promising Teen, Spiritual Commitment, STEAM and more.
Governor General – Dame Marcella Liburd, conveyed a message for the occasion that was read by the President of the St. Kitts National Youth Parliament Association (SKNYPA) – Hasani McDonald.
Dame Marcella described the class of 2024 as an incredible group of young individuals whose achievements, passion and perseverance set them apart as leaders of today and tomorrow.
According to Liburd, the 25 Remarkable Teens stood out not only for their accomplishments but for their commitment to make a difference often in ways that many may not even dream of at such a young age.
She added that their contributions towards society will create a better St. Kitts and Nevis. Every youngster received their awards from Members of Parliament and made the ceremony the most distinctive recognition programme in the nation.
