St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew has revealed that the Conaree Football Stadium is about to complete. He visited the construction site and shared the glimpses of it.
While sharing the photographs from the Conaree Football Stadium, PM Drew said that for many years, the people of Conaree were promised a football stadium.
He stated further that when he became a candidate back in year 2014, he advocated for the fencing and construction of the stadium. The project was approved by the then Labour government and the local builder – Ellison Isaac, from Conaree constructed the fence.
Later, after the government got changed, the project was stopped by the Unity Government. Then the stadium was not built and instead of it a 40 feet container was delivered, to be utilised as a changing room.
PM Drew further mentioned that he made a commitment to the people of Conaree that if he was given the opportunity to serve as their MP, he would have delivered his service to the stadium.
Earlier this week, Drew visited Conaree, where he was accompanied by the Minister of Sports – Samal Duggins and builder – Ellison Isaac. He said that he was happy to report that the stadium is nearing the completion.
Prime Minister Drew extended special thanks to a dedicated advocate for the Conaree community – Duan Ferdinand for his unwavering support.
Sports Minister – Samal Duggins also noted the same and confirmed the completion of Conaree Football Stadium. He expressed that he had the privilege of walking through the stadium with Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew. He said that he was pleased to announce that this project is no longer a ‘coming soon’ but rather ‘under way’ now.
Duggins mentioned that the administration led by St. Kitts and Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) is committed to deliver the results and not just making the promises.
According to him, the state-of-the-art facility will soon stand as a testament. It is a great example of the dedication to develop sports and empower communities in St. Kitts and Nevis. He further asked all to stay tuned for the grand unveiling as they another step towards progress.
