St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew congratulates Attorney-General – Garth Wilkin for representing the twin-island nation, through an official social media post. He extended his wishes as Wilkin got elected to serve as a Vice Chair on the United Nations Intergovernmental Negotiations Committee to draft the UN Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation.
On being elected as Vice Chair, PM Drew shared a photograph of Garth Wilkin and stated, “I take tis opportunity to congratulate our Hon. Attorney-General Garth Wilkin for representing St. Kitts and Nevis and being elected to serve as a Vice Chair on the United Nations Intergovernmental Negotiations Committee to draft the UN Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation.”
According to Prime Minister Drew it is a tremendous achievement for St. Kitts and Nevis, and said, “This is indeed a tremendous achievement for our Federation, our Foreign Service – in particular, our Permanent Mission to the United Nations – and our Attorney-General personally.”
Along with Wilkin, PM Drew extended his gratitude to other delegates and noted, “Congratulations to our A-G, the Foreign Service, and the entire staff of the Permanent Mission of St. Kitts and Nevis to the UN, on behalf of a grateful nation, for your excellent service.”
“We wish you well as you not only serve us but, through the UN, the entire world,” concluded PM Drew.
Being elected as a Vice Chair, Attorney General – Garth Wilkin expressed that to represent the St. Kitts and Nevis on the international stage is a privilege and he do not take this for granted.
Wilkin cleared that their voice in decision making rooms at the UN, on important global issues, secures partnership for the Sustainable Island State Agenda and is imperative for the long-term advancement of the people.
He acknowledged the hard work of Ambassador Dr. Mutryce Williams, Counselor Eustace Wallace and the team at the UN Mission, as they are fulfilling the directives of Dr. Terrance Drew to take up global space.
Furthermore, St. Kitts and Nevis is proud to serve as a Vice Chair on the Inter-Governmental Negotiation Committee to draft the United Nations Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation.
