St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew joined the 93rd Annual Conference of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP), marking it as the oldest political party in the English-speaking Caribbean. He also congratulated all the comrades on this momentous occasion and greeted them Happy Conference Day.
Reportedly, the St. Kitts and Nevis observed the 93rd Annual Conference Day on Sunday, May 18, 2025, as all the roads led to Manhattan Gardens, Lime Kiln for the conference arranged by the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party.
The Business session began at 9:00 a.m. However, the public session began at 3:00 p.m. that involved invited guests and the public. Both the sessions were held at the Manhattan Gardens on Camps.
Considering this, CEO of the SKNLP – Mesach Alford explained the agenda for the Business Session that included the Annual Report from the National Executive of the Party, the Treasurer’s and Auditor’s Reports, presentation and discussion of resolutions from the SKNLP Executive, the eight Branches of the Party, Young Labour and Labour Women.
PM Drew marked the celebration under the theme ‘Powering Progress: Championing Workers!’ as everything they do is about uplifting the people. He urged residents to come out in their red and stand strong together as they continue to build a better St. Kitts and Nevis to live in.
Moreover, Minister for External Affairs, International Trade, Civil Aviation and Diaspora Affairs in Government of Saint Lucia – Alva R. Baptiste joined them as a special guest speaker for the public session, observed in the Afternoon.
Prime Minister Drew noted that the year 2025 is an election year and all executive positions will become vacant and then elections will be held to fill each post that is being contested.
Following the event, awards and gifts were also presented to the reigning Miss Labour 2025, her runners-up and other contestants and the traditional honouring of Mothers from the 8 constituencies on St. Kitts.
Notably, the keynote address to the delegates and invited guests was delivered by the Political Leader of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party – Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew. Delegates who attended the business session were from the 8 Constituencies, Young Labour, Labour Women and the St. Kitts Nevis Trades and Labour Union. Also, the public session saw a number of invited guests, party supporters and members of the public in attendance.
