The first-ever direct flight took off this morning from Israel’s Ben Gurion International Airport to Doha, Qatar. The historical event took place at the start of the Fifa World Cup Qatar 2022, kicking off from 20 November to 18 December.
The update was shared on the official Arabic social media account of the state of Israel. The government of Israel and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has arranged direct flights to Qatar for Israeli football fans to go and witness the whole event.

At the launch of the first flight from Israel to Doha, Lior Haiat, the head of the National Public Diplomacy Directorate at Israel’s Prime Minister Office, was present. Moreover, in his media interview, he stated, ”thousand of Israeli football fans will go and watch the Olympic matches”.
Several photographs were also uploaded on social media from the official historic launch of the first-ever flight from Israel to Doha. Many other officials were present at the launch, along with the Israeli media, which covered the entire event on the ground and interviewed the government officers.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel officials have also stated previously that they will be opening a help and support centre at all the venues of the FIFA world cup 2022 for the assistance of Israeli football fans throughout the world cup.
Furthermore, ”the provided help centres will guide the Israeli visitors and fans in handling their entire stay in Qatar,” the Ministry noted. Several days back, the Israeli Prime minister, Yair Lapid, shared such great news. He expressed his gratification to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel and other officials whose united efforts made the whole historical act possible.
The sport has been playing a significant role in joining people from all over the world. The step taken by the Israeli government can be considered a praiseworthy act. The nation’s people can now go and watch their favourite football stars play on the global stage. The arrangements will be carried out till the end of the world cup. Thousand of fans are estimated to visit the event from Israel.
