Israel: the Prime Minister of Israel, Yair Lapid, shared a letter he sent to the head of the local authorities in Israel yesterday night.

PM Lapid stated that he sent the letter to address the profound concern for the future of the Education system of the country and state. He conveyed that the education system of Israel needs to be looked after since the newly established government in the country has been abandoning the education sector, especially for the young children of the state.

Furthermore, the Prime minister also conveyed that the ignorant behaviour of the new government has resulted in putting the children into the hands of the darkest and most extreme situation in Israeli society.

To define the current situation, PM Lapid said, “This is a direct and dangerous threat to the most basic fundamental values on which the State of America is undermining”.

He further said that as the state of America has brought into the proclamation of the independence of various factors such as,

– Full Social Equality

– Equality for Women

– Protection of Minorities

– Religious Freedom and Conscience.

Furthermore, in the context of coalition harmony of the involved parties, the library programs’ responsibilities and duties are going out of the power of the Ministry of Education, which passes to Avi Maoz, a member of the Israeli Knesset and chairman of the Noam Party.

As per the reports, Avi Maoz is all set to be appointed as the Prime Minister’s office as Deputy Minister. Moreover, PM Lapid stated in his letter, “As you know, this is an extremist, racist, homophobic and dangerous party”.

He pointed out an incident in which Avi Maoz recently called on a woman not to join the Israeli army and suggested that they focus on “their greatest contribution to the country” – and get married”.

Prime Minister Yair Lapid wrote in his letter, “I call on you not to cooperate with the unit for external programs and partnerships in the Ministry of Education as long as Maoz controls it”.

Additionally, PM Lapid urged the head of education authorities and quoted that “heavy responsibility for the educational content that our children will learn in schools – now passes to you”, “

To keep the education system state-wide and liberal, as it has been until now, and to exercise the right of the local government to shape education in its field, you must now act as gatekeepers”.

Over and above that, PM stated in his letter that “You are the ones who will have to protect the contents of the education system in your city and maintain the quality of the system, as Jewish, democratic and liberal, keep the contents of hate and division away from schools, keep contents that teach our children tolerance, acceptance of the other, freedom of speech and telling the truth”.

In the end, he said that the nation’s eye is on you and that he trusts the authorities to prevent the destruction and exploitation of educational values and culture.

He further expressed his belief that the officials will continue to stand up for the fundamental principles on which the country’s education standards were founded.

Lapid quoted,” You are not alone in this fight – we are here and will be happy to help and cooperate in any way possible”.
