The Minister of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT), Dr Amr Talaat, witnessed an agreement signing ceremony held between the University of Information Egypt and Microsoft to provide scholarships to potential students from Microsoft today, December 12th, in Cairo.
As per the updates, the ceremony was conducted and signed by the President of the Egypt University of Information, Dr Reem Bahgat, with the General Manager of Microsoft Egypt, Engineer Mirna Arif. During the agreement signing, several leaders and representatives from the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, along with the University of Technology and Microsoft Egypt, were present.
As per the recent updates, the agreement was signed to promote information technology among the students of the university of technology and provide them with better study facilities and scholarships for advanced students, which will shape their future better in this growing field.
The minister of MCIT, Dr Amr Talaat, said that this agreement is the next big step in our relationship with Microsoft company, along with establishing a partnership with effective companies specialized global I.T. companies to help them increase competencies in the I.T. industry.
Furthermore, the agreement between both parties led to the cooperation in which Microsoft, Egypt will provide several partial degree scholarships and sponsorships for the entire study at the university throughout their time, including annual tuition costs in the international universities partnered with the Egypt University of Information Abroad.
As per the reports, the MCIT minister, Amr Talaat, cited that the ministry of communication and information technology has a deep interest in developing effective and fruitful alliances with the leading Information Technology Companies from around the world within the efficient framework and strategy of the ministry to enhance the capacities of I.T. sector in Egypt.
Moreover, to prepare digital capabilities and expand its boundaries in digital transformation along with implementing digital projects in Egypt, a summit aims to achieve these targets soon.
Additionally, the MCIT Minister, Amr Talaat, further pointed out all the hard work and efforts that the MCIT has been putting in to provide and promote all the necessary assistance and support the education process at the Misr University of Information that strengthen the ability to adapt of the students.
The graduates of the university, under the scholarships granted by Microsoft, will be able to prepare future generations in the modern I.T. field,
which will help them achieve global feats in technological advancements by providing the latest technology and knowledge to them in their training during their study at the university of technology.
On her part, the President of the University of Information, Dr Reem Bahgat, noted that “Acquiring scientific skills related to the digital process is very important to ensure effective presence in the future.”
She added, “The full grants offered by Microsoft will benefit 11 high school students, as well as Degree grants for a large number of students to study at the university;
As for scholarships in our partner universities abroad, Microsoft will bear the cost of the final year for seven students”.
On the other side, Engineer Mirna Arif, General Manager of Microsoft Egypt, expressed her happiness with Microsoft’s partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Egyptian University of Information EUI.
In addition, Mirna Arif stated that “The digital transformation system will not be able to achieve a successful and integrated digital strategy unless there is a base of young people and skilled personnel capable of employing technology necessarily”,
“Through this partnership, we emphasize Microsoft’s commitment to encouraging continuous learning among young people and providing them with equal opportunities for access to the best IT-based education in Egypt, she added. We look forward to these scholarships playing an impactful role within their system.”
