Oman: Ministry of Heritage and Tourism launches Omani rocket project

This morning, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism launched the Omani rocket project in cooperation with the Academy of Industrial Innovation and Oman Cement Company.

The strategic partner of the Ministry and the brand of the rocket product, at the Ministry’s general hall under the patronage of his Excellency the engineer / Ibrahim bin Saeed bin Khalaf Al-Khar My will – Deputy of the Ministry of Heritage and in the presence of His Excellency Azan bin Qassem Al-Bousaidi – Deputy of the Ministry of Tourism.

This development results from the Innovation Project in the Omani rocket, a cooperative initiative launched in cooperation between the Ministry of Heritage, Tourism and the Academy of Industrial Innovation in 2021.

The project aims to develop the process of rocket production in Omani according to high standards and quality; this project includes three stages in a row are:

1- Implementing comprehensive exploratory operations on rocket material to understand the current situation locally and compare it with best practices globally.

2- Perform detailed laboratory experiments to produce experimental quantities of the rocket substance.

3- Trial the rocket material in one of the existing restoration operations.

After completing the project in its three phases and reaching specific specifications and measurements of Sarouj Al-Omani, the specifications, sizes, branding and geographical index have been registered in the Ministry of Trade and Industry and promoting investment in the name of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, which has taken almost two full years.

This project aims to preserve and develop Omani crafts using Modern methods and the highest standards to sustain and ensure their transfer to generations.

The ceremony was attended by the officials of governmental entities, especially those related to the project, such as the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, the General Institute for Industrial Areas (Cities), the SMEs Development Committee, Sultan Qaboos University and the German University of Technology.
