India: The Indian government has organized the 17th Pravasi Bhartiya Divas (PBD), held from 8th January to 10th January 2023, in cooperation with the Madhya Pradesh Government under the Patronage and leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, held in Indore. The convention was conducted under the theme of ‘Diaspora’.
As per the recent information, several other ministers and Government delegations were present at the event and delivered their respected speeches, such as Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and other top government officials.
During the event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the significant role played by Pravasi Bhartiya (Diaspora) living in other major countries in the world, representing India’s cultural values and customs. PM Narendra Modi said,” Pravasi Bhartiya are the Brand Ambassadors of the country”.
Furthermore, the event was organized in its 17th edition. It was focused on acknowledging the important role of the Indian diasporas worldwide, such as in the United Kingdom, the United States of America and Canada. PM Modi further called the initiative an important platform to connect and engage with the Indians living abroad.
In his remarks, the Prime Minister called the Pravasi Bhartiya Divas unique as the nation recently completed 75 years of freedom. During the PBD event, PM also conveyed that the first-ever exhibition was also held under the theme of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, which brings a golden era in the nation once again.
Moreover, the Indian Prime Minister further addressed the attendees that the Bhartiya Pravasi has played a substantial and notable role in the next 25 years of the journey of Amrit Kaal for India. He added that India’s global vision and global order would be strengthened by the support of the Indians living in other nations.
In addition, other attendees’ ministers and government officials at the event expresses their support and honour to hear the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The delegations have shown their support in the journey initiated by the Prime Minister and ensured the PM that the entire world supports this vision.
While addressing the Pravasi Bhartiya Divas event, Prime Minister stated that apart from taking the Indian culture and values further worldwide, the Indians should be armed with facts and real stories, which would strengthen their presence much more. It was reported that the Diaspora living in the US and Canada had shown immense love and connection with their motherland.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded in his end notes that the people are eager to contribute their part in India’s growth and success stories, which is highly appreciable.
The External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, has also sat with the members and representatives of the US and Canada and discussed further steps in their mutual cooperation.
The delegations added, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India has seen immense growth and development in the field of technological advancement, relations building and economic growth etc., which was never happened before.”
