J&K administration demolishes shopping complex of Hurriyat leader Qazi Yasir on Feb 2

Srinagar, Jammu Kashmir: A shopping complex of Hurriyat leader and former Mirwaiz of South Kashmir Qazi Yasir was partially demolished by the administration of the Anantnag after being alleged of encroached on government land to construct the shopping complex, said reports.

As per the reports, a JCB was used during demolishing the building, which was illegally built on the land of the Jammu Kashmir Government’s property.

In addition, the district administration of Anantnag took the step to take down the building constructed near the stadium yesterday, February 02, 2023.

After the demolishing, no response to the accusations has been registered by the Hurriyat leader, Qazi Yasir or his family or spokesperson levelled against him by the administration of Jammu and Kashmir, said reports.

Additionally, the demotion was accompanied by government officials from the administration of the Anantnag district’s revenue department, along with the police who carried out the entire operation. 

Moreover, the structure was handed over to the district’s Municipal Council for further procedure, and all procedures were conducted ahead of the demolition, said officials.

The reports have also stated that the administration of Jammu and Kashmir has initiated a land eviction drive across the different parts of south and north Kashmir and Srinagar, during which a number of political leaders and officials were targeted in the process.

The officials have noted that, On Sunday, NIA (The National Investigating Agency) attached the separatist Hurriyat Conference’s office in the region of Rajbagh on the orders of a Delhi court, particularly in a case of terror funding.

“A specially appointed team of officers from the federal agency arrived at the office of Hurriyat and pasted an attachment notice on the outer wall of the building,” said reports.

“The attachment was to inform all the members of the public that Rajbagh, where the All Party Hurriyat Conference office is located, is owned by Nayeem Ahmed Khan jointly, who is currently facing court trail-has been attached by order of the court dated January 27, 2023, by special NIA Court Patiala House, New Delhi,” the notice read.
