Egypt: Minister of Tourism and Archaeology of Egypt, Ahmed Issa, received Ms Elena Banova, the Coordinator of the United Nations in Egypt, in his office at the Ministry’s headquarters in Zamalek on Sunday, March 26, to explore ways to enhance cooperation between the Ministry and the United Nations in the field of tourism and archaeology.

According to the updates, the officials from the Ministry of Tourism and Archaeology have confirmed that Minister Ahmed Issa and the Coordinator of the United Nations in Egypt are looking for ways to enhance cooperation in the field of tourism and archaeology.

Furthermore, the Tourism Minister of Egypt, Issa, began the meeting by welcoming Ms Elena Panova and proudly extended his remarks appreciating the deep national ties between the Ministry and the United Nations that bear fruitful cooperation among its affiliated organizations.

During the meeting, the activities carried out by the United Nations in Egypt were reviewed and emphasized the United Nations’ keenness to enhance cooperation with the Egyptian government in all development spheres, especially tourism and archaeology.

As per the sources, the meeting also discussed the National Strategy for Tourism Development in Egypt, which aims to achieve rapid growth in the industry of between 25% and 30% annually, which highlights the improvement of the tourism experience in Egypt.

It was further conveyed that the ministers stressed raising the quality of tourism services provided by it through several methods, Training workers in the tourism and archaeology sector to develop their abilities and skills and enhance the efficiency and availability of tourism services in museums and archaeological sites for special needs.

Moreover, the meeting also shed light on the different types and products of the Egyptian tourist destination that meet the needs of tourists from different countries of the world, including beach tourism products, entertainment product, cultural tourism etc.

The Ministry’s role as a sergeant, organizer and authorized to work within the tourism industry in Egypt and director of public spending programs aimed at serving the tourism industry as well as contributing to empowering the private sector to do its part and achieve further success, growth and prosperity as it assumes its responsibilities.

Notably, the meeting was attended by Ms Yamna Al-Bahar, Assistant to the Minister of Tourism and Archaeology, and Advisor Amr Abdullah, General Supervisor of the General Administration for International Relations and Agreements in the Ministry of Tourism and Archaeology.
