Jordan: Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Jordan, Dr Bashar Al-Khasaouna, received President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Zeina Touqan Odell Reno Paso, in his prime ministerial office on Tuesday, March 28, 2023.

According to the shared information, the meeting was attended by the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Zeina Touqan. On his part, the Prime Minister confirmed the partnership links Jordan with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, that the Bank is one of the most important partners and supporters of Jordan at the public and private sectors level.

While extending his remarks, Prime Minister Al Khasaouna also valued the support of the European Bank for the reconstruction and development of Jordan in a number of sectors and fields. He added that allocated to the signing of a grant agreement at the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation today with the Bank worth 30 million euros to support the establishment of a water treatment plant in the Al-Gbawi region.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister took it to reaffirm the importance of this visit by the President of the European Bank for Restoration and Development to Jordan, Zeina Touqan, to strengthen cooperation between Jordan and the Bank and to look at the investment environment in the Kingdom, Jordan certainly looks forward to more bank investments in many vital areas.

PM Al-Khasaouna indicated the government’s determination to issue a new law for partnership between the public and private sectors to reduce the obstacles the current law contained in implementing many development and service projects.

For her part, the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development pointed out that the Bank is looking forward to expanding its activities and investments in the Kingdom. The Bank confirmed the interest in many projects that Jordan intends to implement, especially in the fields of energy, water, clean energy and green economy.
