Middle East, Egypt: The Minister of Culture – Nevine El Kilany, has recently participated in the inaugural event of the 11th session of the Faisal Book Fair, which is scheduled to be held next Sunday with the participation of more than 30 publishers.
As per the recently shared updates, the Minister of Culture, Nevine El Kilany, took it to begin the events of the eleventh session of the Faisal Book Fair, organized by the Egyptian General Book Authority, headed by Ahmed Bahi el Din, next Sunday.
The event will be organized on the grounds of the Egyptian General Authority for Books in the student area of the Faisal district and will be held from 2 to 12 April 2023.
“The Faisal Book Fair is one of the important Ramadan activities that we aim to spread knowledge and build the Egyptian personality through reading and informing, and reaching areas lacking cultural services,” said Nevine El Kilany.
The reports have stated that the Minister of Culture, Kilany, further noted that this year, through the Faisal Book Fair, the Ministry of Culture focuses on organizing events specifically aimed at children and people with disabilities.
In her remarks, she added that through art workshops and cultural activities, the exhibition also offers discounts of up to 45% on a number of book editions as part of the “Culture and Art for All” initiative, which launched during the Cairo International Book Fair in its latest edition.
The book fair also succeeded in achieving a significant public turnout for a number of editions ranging from 1 to 20 pounds. One pound, through which we aim to benefit a wide section of the Egyptian public by purchasing books at a low cost, added Minister Kilany.
For his part, more than 30 publishers are participating in the exhibition this year, the head of the Egyptian General Authority for Books, said Dr Ahmed Bahi el-Din.
It was further reported that the head of EGAB, El-Din, will also be participating in the presentation of their diverse publications and participating in art presentations including chanting, folk arts and speaking workshops, in addition to a series of cultural seminars on symbols of culture and literature.
