Yemen’s various parts and cities celebrated the 61st anniversary of the September Revolution. The September Revolution took place on September 26, 1962. The revolution established the Yemen arab republic in yemen after this revolution family rule of Al-hamiduddine ended .
Before this September revolution, many attempts to end this family rule did not succeeded.Only this revolution changed the matrics of the political situation of Yemen.
A torch-lighting ceremony was held in Tahir Square in Sana’a, the capital city of Yemen.The torch lighting ceremony symbolizes the next year of revolution. Prime Minister Abdulaziz bin Habtoor, along with Defence Minister Major General Mohammed Naseer Al-atifi and other higher officials of Yemen, also attended the ceremony.
Many other youth organizations also participated celebrations that were held till the end of the day.
During the celebratory events, scouting clubs and youth scouts presented a youth show. These shows were accompanied by military music and patriotic melodies.It reflected the joy and happiness of the people of Yemen. All the scouts regiments carried Yemeni flags fluttering over their heads . Scout Raafaat Ali, from the Taiz governorate , read the document with the main focus to remember the sacrifices of yemen people.
Student teams also presented artistic performances relating to goals of revolution and fireworks launched into sky .
The ceremonies of celebration witnessed the speeches of many influential people, including the prime minister of Yemen.
All the addresses were started with congratulatory message . The speeches stressed to implement the goals of September 26 revolution.
The political bureau of the National resistance of Yemen on the west coast began early celebration . The celebration on the West Coast coincided with holding the second mass wedding of 1000 brides and grooms in Mokha.
The Houthi militant group tried to create disturbance at a celebration function in Sana’a by preventing the participants from raising the Yemen national flag . But the popular momentum forced Houthi militants to retreat and go ahead as planned.
