Damascus University’s Science department all set to organize a event

The science department of Damascus University Syria is all set to organize an event on the theme of “Chemistry in the service of society and the environment”. The event will be held for two days on Sunday and Monday (29th and 30th October 2023). Timing of the event will be 10 a.m.

This science-based event will be organized with the cooperation of the National Federation of Syrian Students and the Syrian Chemical Society. The event will also host a book fair and a variety of products created by the students of the university’s science department. Students can buy the books of their interest, especially books relating to different branches of Science.

It is to be specifically mentioned that Damascus University usually organizes seminars on different subjects and topics. These seminars play a very vital and significant role in the enhancement of knowledge among the students.

Moreover, these types of seminars also provide the students an opportunity to share their thoughts with the experts of  respective fields. University management reaffirmed its commitment to improving the university’s infrastructure and atmosphere for the overall development of the students.

As the theme of the event suggests, the role of chemistry will be thoroughly discussed in light of global environmental issues like climate change, rising temperatures, melting glaciers, etc. These climatic condition has become an issue of concern for both the public and the Governments.

Global climatic issues has huge impact on society, so scientists across the globe are exploring ways to mitigate the effect with their research in the field of chemistry.

This science event is a recognition of the pivotal role of chemistry in understanding the number of effects of pollution, climate change, and natural processes.

Students of the university expressed their happiness. Some students said that they are thankful to the administration of the university for organizing such kind of seminar. They also hoped that the university would continue its effort in the direction of providing quality education.
