Dubai Municipality has launched a comprehensive initiative to ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the emirate during the upcoming Eid Al Adha holidays.
With a dedicated workforce of 3,150 field supervisors and sanitation engineers, the civic body aims to maintain impeccable cleanliness standards across all public areas, reflecting its commitment to service excellence during special occasions.
The initiative, part of Dubai Municipality’s strategic plan, involves meticulous planning and execution to manage public cleanliness operations effectively.
Covering over 2,300 kilometers of roads, including highways, residential areas, markets, public beaches, waterways, and facilities, the municipality’s efforts are geared towards enhancing the city’s aesthetic appeal and ensuring hygienic conditions for residents and visitors alike.
A key component of this initiative is the deployment of a specialized team comprising 250 supervisory and control staff who will oversee the execution of technical programs and coordinate field activities.
They will be supported by a workforce of 2,250 sanitation engineers deployed across Dubai, operating in a four-shift system equipped with state-of-the-art resources.
In addition to its own resources, Dubai Municipality has collaborated with the private sector, enlisting 650 cleaning engineers to supervise operations in tourist hubs, industrial areas, and desert landscapes.
This integrated approach underscores the municipality’s proactive stance in managing diverse cleaning requirements during peak holiday periods.
The municipality’s focus extends to enhancing safety measures, particularly at public beaches reserved exclusively for families during Eid Al Adha.
A dedicated team of seven field supervisors and 84 sanitation engineers will operate in three shifts daily to ensure cleanliness and safety protocols are rigorously maintained at popular beach destinations, including Corniche Al Mamzar, Jumeirah, and Jebel Ali.
Moreover, stringent measures have been implemented to uphold cleanliness on main roads, spanning 2,300 kilometers. A specialized team of 155 sanitation engineers and 10 supervisory personnel will work around the clock in four shifts, supported by a fleet of 759 automated vehicles.
This fleet will undertake daily programs, encompassing tasks ranging from routine cleaning to emergency response and incident reporting along external roads and highways.
Dubai Municipality has also prioritized environmental sustainability by ensuring operational continuity at key facilities such as the Al Qusais landfill, Bayada landfill, and the Jebel Ali Hazardous Waste Treatment Plant.
These facilities will operate ceaselessly throughout the holidays to manage waste disposal efficiently, underscoring the municipality’s commitment to environmental stewardship.
To facilitate public convenience, the municipality has streamlined access to essential services through its digital platforms, allowing residents to request permits for waste disposal, manage infrastructure projects, and seamlessly arrange waste collection services.
However, it has announced a temporary suspension of bulk waste collection services on the first day of Eid Al Adha, resuming promptly thereafter.
As part of its outreach efforts, Dubai Municipality has urged the public to uphold civic responsibilities by adhering to guidelines that promote the preservation of public facilities and proper waste disposal practices.
Prohibitions against barbecuing in green areas and littering in public spaces aim to preserve Dubai’s pristine environment and foster a culture of cleanliness among residents and visitors.
Through its proactive measures and collaborative initiatives, Dubai Municipality is poised to ensure that an unwavering commitment to cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental sustainability accompanies Eid Al Adha celebrations in the emirate.
As preparations intensify, residents can rest assured that their public spaces will be meticulously maintained, reflecting Dubai Municipality’s dedication to delivering world-class services year-round.
