Pazardzhik, Bulgaria — A Turkish family of five sustained injuries in a serious traffic accident on the Trakia highway near Pazardzhik early this morning. The collision occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m. at the 92nd kilometer of the highway, in the direction of Sofia.
The accident involved a vehicle carrying a man, a woman, and their three children. Emergency services were alerted to the scene through the 112 emergency number.
According to Miroslav Stoyanov, a spokesperson for the Pazardzhik police, the family was promptly transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation.
While specific details regarding the nature of their injuries have not yet been released, the Ministry of the Interior has confirmed that the family’s condition is stable and their lives are not considered to be in immediate danger.
However, the father of the family sustained more severe injuries and was trapped inside the vehicle. Fire department rescue teams worked to extricate him from the wreckage.
Road Police units are currently on-site managing the situation. Despite the vehicle being removed from the highway, authorities are advising drivers to exercise extra caution while traveling through this section.
They recommend adhering to reduced speed limits and maintaining a safe distance from other vehicles to allow for safe stopping if necessary.
