Adel, the 23-year-old forward for Pyramids FC, has emerged as a potential target for Ligue 1 side RC Lens, following his previous near move to Spanish club Getafe during the summer transfer window.
After a medical in Spain, the deal ultimately collapsed at the last moment, leaving the talented Egyptian still on the hunt for an opportunity in European football.
RC Lens, currently enduring a challenging season in front of goal, is reportedly eyeing Adel as they look to bolster their attacking options.
According to the French website ButClub, Lens has shown interest in the forward, who is widely regarded as one of the most promising talents in Egypt.
With only 12 goals scored in 11 games so far this season, Lens ranks fourth from the bottom in terms of offensive output in Ligue 1, despite their solid defensive record, conceding just nine goals.
Sitting eighth in the league table, Lens’ struggles in attack have been a key factor holding them back from achieving higher standings.
The addition of Adel could provide the spark the team needs, with the Egyptian forward’s sharpness in front of goal and his ability to contribute creatively in the final third.
Should the move go ahead, Adel would become the second Egyptian to play for RC Lens, following in the footsteps of his current Pyramids FC teammate Karim Hafez, who spent a brief period at the club between 2016 and 2017.
Moreover, the move would make Adel the third active Egyptian player in Ligue 1, joining Mohamed Abdelmonem of OGC Nice and Nantes striker Mostafa Mohamed, further solidifying Egypt’s growing presence in the French top flight.
So far this season, Adel has made five appearances for Pyramids FC, scoring twice and showcasing his ability to make an impact.
The forward’s keen desire to play in Europe has been evident, and it is believed that he would push his current club to accept any incoming offers, especially with the financial backing Pyramids have placed on him.
The Egyptian club has reportedly valued Adel at $5 million, which could be a significant bargaining point in negotiations with RC Lens.
For RC Lens, bringing in Adel would be a crucial step in addressing their attacking woes and reinforcing their squad ahead of the busy winter period.
While their strong defensive performances have kept them mid-table, the team’s lack of attacking firepower could hinder their chances of challenging for higher league positions in the second half of the season.
The future of Adel remains uncertain, but with European interest mounting and Pyramids FC’s valuation in place, the Egyptian forward could soon be on his way to France, where a new chapter in his career awaits.
If the move materializes, it would be an exciting opportunity for the young talent to prove his worth in one of Europe’s top leagues.
