U.S. to send additional support to Israel-Biden

The United States Defense Secretary Lloyd said the United States of America would send multiple military ships and aircraft closer to Israel along with other necessay aid to support Israel.

He also added that Washington believes Hamas’ deadly attacks may have been motivated to disrupt a potential talks  to normalise relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, Hamas fighters launched Fresh attacks on Israeli towns as the country suffered its bloodiest day in decades, which began on Saturday morning. Israel rataliated the Palestinians with air strikes in Gaza on Sunday, with hundreds reportedly killed on both sides of warring countries.

The growing violence is seen as threat to start a major new war in the Middle East regions.

It is to be worth mentioning that At least three Americans were also killed in attacks, sources reported on Sunday, citing a U.S. memo.

Austin, in a statement, also  said the USA has already ordered the movement of the USS Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group to the Eastern Mediterranean, which is located very close to Israel. The force movement includes a carrier, a guided missile cruiser and four guided missile destroyers.

he further added that  the United States had also taken steps to enhance the augmentation of U.S. Air Force F-35, F-15, F-16, and A-10 fighter aircraft squadrons in the region. He added further that the United States would also provide munitions to Israel if the need arose in the future.

U.S. President Joe Biden, during his talk with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday, said that heavy  assistance for the Israeli Defense Forces is on its way to Israel and more would follow in the coming days as per the requirement of the situation, U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris also  talked to  Israeli President Isaac Herzog.

Austin also said that he himself spoke to Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant to update him on U.S. responses and “to express support for the people of Israel who are suffering in attacks from the Hamas and is receiving updates on Israel’s operation to restore security and safety from Hamas’ terrorist attack.”

“The Secretary reaffirmed the full-fledged and unconditional support of the United States for Israel’s right to defend itself against militants,” Austin underscored that the U.S. steps “were taken to strengthen the U.S. military positions in the region to strengthen regional deterrence efforts.” againt militants.

Meanwhile, dozens of pro-Palestinian protesters gathered at Times Square in New York City and near the White House in Washington on Sunday; they were protesting to oppose the U.S.’ support of Israel.

Some protesters carried banners with writing on them, “End U.S. aid” and “Resistance is not terrorism.”

The defence secretary also highlighted that till now, there is no evidence of Iran’s involvement in the ongoing conflict.
