The Cypriot Council of Ministers decided to relax all their restriction on February 16 that new measures regulate the travellers who will arrive in Cyprus. This execution will come into effect on February 21 instead of March 1.

In between February 21 and 28, which is going to be a transitional period, all passengers who will arrive at the airport in between these dates at the airports of Larnaca and Paphos will have to go through with a PCR test upon arrival.

According to the Transport Minister ‘Yiannis Karousos’ after March 1, passengers who will arrive at the airport do not need to do mandatory PCR testing.

Moreover, the cabinet of Cyprus decided that the airport measures related to passengers who are not vaccinated or do not have their vaccination certificate or recovery certificate, irrespective of nationality, will apply to people aged 12 and over, somewhat of 6 and above as earlier announced.

Only those passengers allowed who are vaccinated as well as recovered and totally healthy to enter Cyprus if they complete these conditions: They have their valid vaccination certificate from the relevant authorities of any third country or have a certificate issued by a third country in which EU Digital COVID Certificate System’s included or have a European or third-country equivalent digital COVID-19 vaccination or recovery certificate.

As per the new rules and regulations, vaccinated passengers and the passengers who are fine and also recovered from the virus are allowed to travel to Cyprus if their country of origin is supposed to be epidemiologically secure. The new national travel rules will become effective on March 1.

However, those who have received their second vaccination or a booster shot are exempted from the quarantine requirement.

Passengers 18 and older are required to present a vaccination certificate showing they received a booster shot in the last nine months since they received their second shot. Otherwise, they will be considered as unvaccinated.
