Benjamin Gantz, the Israeli minister of defence, paid a visit to Itzik Saidian in the hospital on Monday, who caught under fire last April during an ongoing protest.
Itzik Saidan is an ex-IDF ( Israeli defence forces) soldier. He was involved in the protests against the bureaucracy and the lack of acknowledgement towards his condition of PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder ) outside of the rehabilitation centre of Israel, which he gained in the aftermath of the fight in the year 2014 protective edge campaign in Gaza.

It was reported that the soldier was brutally hurt and burned during the entire incident. According to the doctors and surgeons, there was not the slightest chance of his survival.
Hence, this was nothing less than a miracle that he even survived the burn, as he was not supposed to last a night in the first place.
He underwent nearly 30 surgeries in his rehabilitation and recovery, from a skinless body to standing on his feet. Benjamin Gantz wished him a more speedy recovery and complete rehab during his visit to Itzik Saidian. he has been paying visits to the national defence circuit of the country for the last few days. When he met with the soldier, he said that it entered his heart deeply.
Furthermore, he expressed his positive emotions and happiness after knowing that the ex-IDF soldier is making progress in his health at a fast pace. The entire meeting was a heartwarming experience for the minister of defence. He added that such an accident could dismantle the whole life of somebody, but the way Itzik fought the situation is commendable and unbelievable in many terms.
As per the sources, the condition of the Saidian was not a better place or state to be in as a person. His body was wholly burnt and damaged in the fire. The doctors could see his bones as there was no skin left. Some of the surgeries were only possible by harvesting the skin from the soles of his feet.
Moreover, the continuously improving technology in Israel also played a significant role in the healing process. Some operations were only possible because of technology invented in the nation. The doctors managed to use skin substitutes using Keratinocytes, an Israeli invention that helped the skin form a layer on the body that spreads to make clean tissues.
This recovery is considered a remarkable feat in the medical fraternity of Israel. The doctors said that the soldier’s entire healing process also helped advance medical thinking towards inventing advanced medical treatments to help people.
