Egypt: Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities released a press release regarding a recent issue in which the officials from the ministry stated that a joint committee is being formed to investigate the entire incident related to the hotel facility disposing of solid waste in the water of the Nile River.
The Tourism and Antiquities Ministry will be working on the case in association with the other concerned departments to get to know better situational information to act upon to get to a solid conclusion.
Meanwhile, the ministry stated that the facility manager had been given three months of suspension for the allegation of damaging the Nile River’s purity by throwing the facility’s solid waste in it and spoiling the tourism reputation and image of Egypt considerably.
Furthermore, as per the latest reports, several authorities from the Egypt government have been involved in the consideration to resolve the entire issue.
It is considered that the operation will be led by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, accompanied by the Archaeology Department, the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, The Environmental Affairs Agency, the Environment Police and Water bodies and the Nile River Protection Officer.
Moreover, as per the results obtained from the investigations, it has been proven that the facility and the employees were not fully committed to take appropriate preventive precautions and special measures for the safe disposal of solid waste.
After getting to such a conclusion, the Ministry of Tourism and Monuments immediately took action against the facility manager.
They suspended him for three months for his ignorant actions of letting the solid waste be disposed of in the holy Nile river of Egypt. It has been said that the manager’s actions have also caused damaging the tourism-hosting reputation of the Country.
In the end, the Ministry of Tourism and Monuments expressed its keenness to improve and enhance the framework of its monitoring role. They assured to take all necessary legal measures against those who harm Egypt’s tourism reputation.
The officials said, “Ministry is making sure that there are organized regulations for the operation of floating hotel facilities and ways to avoid this and that what has been done is individual behaviour”.
Additionally, the officials from Tourism Ministry have directed all the hotel facilities to preserve the Great Nile River with sheer determination.
The ministry thanked the other involved parties in the investigation, such as the Ministry of Environment, Irrigation and Water Resources, the Police of Environment and Water Surface and the Nile River Protection Sector.
