St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance drew, took to his official social media account to extend his heartiest condolences to the family and friends of William Dore after the unfortunate demise of one of the leading personalities in the education system of the Twin-island Federation.
According to the reports, Prime Minister Terrance Drew shared the sorrowful news through his official social media post. He penned, “I extend my deepest condolences to the beloved and family of the late William Dore, born on July 7, 1925, who was one of the major leading forces in the evolution of education in Saint Kitts and Nevis.”
In addition, the Minister of Health of St Kitts and Nevis, Terrance Drew, recalled his memories regarding the contribution and vital role of William Dore in the country’s education system.
He further praised the work that Dore had done in the education industry regarding the upliftment of the schooling systems and cited that, “There was a time when St Kitts and Nevis had no secondary education in St Kitts and Nevis, the initiative was taken by Mr Dore who came forward and reached out to several essential institutions as well as government to encourage providing better education in the nation.”
Furthermore, PM Drew continued his notes and cited, “William Dore played a significant role in introducing the College of Preceptors Examination and made the government agree to spearhead the initiative led by him.”
He added, “The College of Preceptors, which dates back to 1846 and is known as the oldest surviving teaching cooperation in the United Kingdom (UK). A degree from the College of Preceptors was almost equivalent to a GCE, O’ level pass.”
Additionally, the Facebook caption of Prime Minister Drew further read, “The Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis is appreciative of the work of Mr William Dore and his notable contribution to the advancement of education within the Federation.
“May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his family receive the comfort and reassurance needed during this difficult time,” concluded PM Drew.
