In a recently released video, Lebanon’s militant group Hezbollah claimed on Monday it had started destroying surveillance cameras on many Israeli forces posts along the Border as tension rose following the Israel-Hamas conflict that began on October 7.

Hezbollah’s military media wing released a video showing Hezbollah militants shooting at and destroying surveillance cameras placed by Israeli armed forces on five points along the Lebanon-Israel border, including one that was outside the Israeli town of Metula.

The militant group seems to want to deter the Israeli army from monitoring the situation on the Lebanese side of the Border after days of firing that left at least seven people dead, it includes four Hezbollah fighters on the Lebanese side.

After the beginning of an attack by the Palestinian militant Hamas group on the southern part of Israel that killed more than 1,400 Israeli civilians and soldiers, tension has risen at the Lebanon-Israel border. Reportedly, militants of Hezbollah fighters fired anti-tank missiles targeting Israeli army positions, and Israeli troops shelled border areas on the Lebanese side of the Border in retaliatory action.

Israel and Hezbollah group are known for bitter enemies that fought a month-long war in the summer of 2006. Israel considers this Iran-backed Shiite militant group its most serious threat, estimating that Hezbollah has some 150,000 rockets and missiles aimed to target Israel.

There is huge speculation that the powerful Iran-backed Hezbollah could join the war with Israel, meanwhile US President Joe Biden warned other groups and nations in the Middle East not to join the conflict and has sent American warships to the region and vowed full support for Israel to deter the enemy.

It is to be specifically that French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna arrived in Beirut, where she is going to meet officials to discuss border tensions.
Lebanon’s caretaker, Prime Minister Najib Mikati, said the country’s politically unstable government has been crying to ease tensions along its southern Border with Israel and avoid dragging the tiny nation into a new conflict in the Middle East.

In another deveolpment The Israeli military ordered people living in 28 communities near the Lebanese Border to leave.
