Cairo: Muslims from the world holding a visit visa, and Ministry stated that this is not permitted to perform Hajj rituals; this is only limited to performing Hajj and Um-rah.
Hajj is only allowed with a selected visit or to those who have legal residency in the kingdom, as per the Ministry, according to Saudi news portal Ajel.
Last month, Saudi Arabia declared that they would only allow 1 million pilgrims from inside and outside the kingdom in order to perform this year’s Hajj, after restricting the annual ritual to hundreds of thousands of Muslims living inside the country for the last two years as everyone is facing COVID-19 outbreak.
However, they set a condition in which only eligible pilgrims are allowed to perform Umrah and Hajj this year, and that condition is that they must be under 65, and they should be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and present a negative PCR test, said Saudi Arabia authority.
It is estimated that around 2.5 million Muslims from all over the world used to attend Hajj in Saudi Arabia every year before the pandemic.
Saudi Arabia has highlighted the new rules for performing Umrah or lesser pilgrimage and stated that it is impossible to enhance the appointments set in the required permits issued to undertake the ritual.
According to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah that the appointment can be cancelled through their new app “Eatmarna” six hours at most before the permitted time takes effect to apply for a new permit.
The new reminder was made following the spike in the numbers of Umrah pilgrims during the Muslim holy month ‘Of Ramadan, it is usually a peak season for performing the rites and rituals at the Grand Mosque in Mecca.
Moreover, the Ministry also added that the Unvaccinated Muslims are allowed to take Umrah permits and pray at the Grand Mosque. The Prophet Mohammed’s Mosque in Medina provided they were not infected by COVID-19 or had come in touch with the virus patients.
