Kuwait government officially declares that they are all set to lift all COVID-19 restrictions starting from May 1.
The restriction which they are removing includes; no mask will be longer mandatory, but an option, both indoor and outdoor, stated by the government spokesperson Tareq Al-Mezrem as saying at a press conference.
Furthermore, he added that the PCR test is also no longer required for the passengers who arrive, regardless of their immunization status.
Meanwhile, all people, vaccinated or unvaccinated, are allowed to enter all enclosed public places, regardless of immunization status, and with no PCR test needed, reported this news from the press conference.
He noted that PCR test conditions for unvaccinated people in educational institutions and workplaces are also cancelled.
And people who came in contact with COVID-19 positive cases need no quarantine, and the PCR test is also required if symptoms appear within 14 days from the date of the last contact, said the spokesperson.
Those who are confirmed to be infected should be home quarantined for five days from the date of infection, and then the mask is compulsory, he noted.
However, Covid-19 patients who have symptoms must wear masks, Deputy Prime Minister, Oil Minister and State Minister for Cabinet Affairs Mohammad Al-Fares said.
According to Mr Al Fares, people will be allowed access to all the public places regardless of their vaccination status, and PCR tests will be no longer mandatory at educational institutions and workplaces.
Under the easing of restrictions, unvaccinated fans will also be allowed back into sports stadiums.
The Cabinet urged worshippers to keep to health guidelines and precautions — including wearing masks and using their own prayer mats — at all mosques and other places of worship.
This restriction was removed by The Directorate-General for Civil Aviation; he also cancelled the restrictions for the PCR requirement for all arrivals from abroad, regardless of vaccination, from Sunday, May 1 2022.
